Dog-friendly holiday apartments in Oetz · Ötztal · Tyrol
Holiday with your dog.
Four paws welcome — from the ski room to the alpine pasture.
A holiday only counts when everyone comes along — including the dog. That is why all five holiday apartments at Urlaubsplatzl are dog-friendly: from the snug Cosy for two to the big 360 for eight. No hunting for the one "dog apartment", no compromises — you simply pick the apartment that suits your group, and your dog is automatically welcome.
Add a location that makes dog noses happy: the morning walk starts right at the front door, the Ötztaler Ache river runs through the valley, Lake Piburg lies just above the village — and in winter, cleared walking trails wind through snowy forests. As hosts, we are always happy to tell you which loop is the most beautiful today.

How your dog stays with us
The rules are deliberately simple: your dog is welcome in every one of our five holiday apartments and is simply added during the online booking. We charge a pet fee of € 20 per night, capped at € 100 per stay — no matter how many dogs travel with you. From the fifth night on, your four-legged friend holidays for free. And since dogs do not count towards the guest number, the apartment's full capacity stays with you two-legged guests.
- All 5 holiday apartments (40–110 m²) are dog-friendly
- € 20/night, max € 100 per stay — regardless of how many dogs
- Dogs do not count towards the guest number
- Tip: bring your dog's favourite blanket and basket

Hiking with your dog around Oetz
Around Oetz, hiking with your dog starts right outside the door: the flat valley paths along the Ötztaler Ache are perfect for the morning loop, the shady forest trail up to Lake Piburg is the mid-morning classic — and the Acherkogelbahn cable car takes you up to the alpine paths of Hochoetz. On the way: leash your dog near grazing livestock and keep your distance, and pack waste bags. We will gladly share our personal favourite dog loops at check-in.
- Flat valley paths along the Ötztaler Ache — ideal for warming up
- Forest trail to Lake Piburg right from Oetz
- Alpine paths in Hochoetz (cable car: leash & muzzle customary)
- Near grazing livestock: leash on, keep distance

Water, woods & cooling off
Dogs and mountain water — a love story. The Ötztaler Ache offers quiet riverbank spots for a cool-down in between, and the loop around Lake Piburg is the region's most beautiful shady round on warm days (please mind the signage in the bathing area). Heading higher up: the hikes around Hochoetz pass streams and troughs along the way — plenty of water breaks included.
- Quiet riverbank spots along the Ötztaler Ache
- Shady loop around Lake Piburg
- Streams along the alpine paths

Winter with your dog in Oetz
Oetz is dog territory in winter too: cleared winter walking trails lead through snowy forests and across the sunny plateau, the valley loops along the river stay easily walkable — and while part of the family skis in Hochoetz, the rest takes the dog on the prettiest snow round. Afterwards: dry the paws, warm up the apartment, contented dog by the sofa. One tip from experience: rinse the paws briefly after gritted path sections.
- Cleared winter walking trails from the village
- Valley loops along the Ötztaler Ache in winter too
- Remember paw care after gritted paths
