The family ski area of Hochoetz is reached via the Acherkogelbahn cable car right in Oetz — the ski bus outside our front door takes you there. Kühtai is about 25 minutes away; Sölden and Gurgl are around half an hour up the valley. All five compared: Ski areas around Oetz.

Lake Piburg — one of Tyrol's warmest swimming lakes — lies just above Oetz: a leisurely hike on foot, or a few minutes by car.

By car, take the A12 Inntal motorway to the Ötztal exit — from there it's only a few minutes to Oetz. By train, travel to Ötztal railway station, where the bus takes you straight to Oetz.

Yes. You receive the Ötztal Inside Guest Card after the online check-in, digital and free of charge. The ski bus is free with it in winter; in summer you get 30 % off single tickets. The Ötztal Inside Summer Card is a different, paid card — our card guide explains which applies when.

Oetz sits at the mouth of the valley at 820 metres: Sölden is 32 kilometres up the valley, Innsbruck 56 kilometres down. If you are after glacier skiing, you are better off further in. If you want a family ski area on your doorstep, Lake Piburg for swimming and short drives in both directions, the front of the valley is the place.
